Please Help!!! On November 17th, in the 600 block of Seminole Way, a communication device for a special needs child was stolen from a vehicle. This device is needed by the child to be able to communicate. The device is of no use to anyone other than the child so that he can communicate with family and teachers.
If you have seen this device, please contact the DeForest Police Department Anonymous Tip Line at 608-846-6699. The device is desperately needed back. No questions asked.
March 1, 2006- A recent rash of garage burglaries has occurred in the DeForest area. In early February, three suspects were chased by DeForest officers for several blocks after entering numerous unlocked garages in the W. Lexington Parkway area. The suspects evaded capture but evidence was collected that the suspects dropped and is being processed for further leads. Anyone with information is asked to call the DeForest Police Department. Residents are again reminded to lock doors and close garage doors during hours of darkness. A thief needs three things to complete his crimes, desire, ability, and opportunity. By taking away the opportunity, we prevent the crime.
August 10. 2005- Numerous property crimes have been reported during the last several weeks. During the evening hours, unknown suspect(s) have caused thousands of dollars in damage to vehicles and other property throughout the village. Specifically, dozens of memorials were tore from the ground at the St. Olaf’s Cemetery on S. Cleveland St.
In addition, dozens of vehicles have been damaged during the evening hours by persons scratching the sides with a sharp object. Several other vehicles have been the targets of theft of property due to being unlocked.
A reminder to lock all vehicles at all times and to report any suspicious persons, or curfew violators immediately.
Any information in these or any other crimes is appreciated.
